One of the best things about writing is that I get to create the stories I want to read. Recently, I decided to share this joy with my Patreon patrons by putting out a call for fairy tale retelling requests, which, so far, has been a lot of fun. I have material for months and months, and the ideas my patrons have tossed my way are clever and exciting and rejuvenating. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, consider joining me on Patreon.
In other news, I am remiss in telling you that Thorn has received several awards! I’ve been blown away by the book’s reception.
- FOREWORD Reviews LGBTQ+ Book of the Year
- IPPY Silver Medal for Fantasy (National)
- Golden Crown Literary Society Goldie Award for Fantasy
- Golden Crown Literary Society Finalist for the Ann Bannon Popular Choice Award
- ALA Over the Rainbow Award Long List
I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to know that Thorn has reached readers. Thank you for reaching out to me and sharing how much you enjoy my stories. It means the world to me.
In other news, Nottingham has been loose in the world for (checks calendar) six months, which feels surreal because six months ago in the U.S., at least, we had no idea what 2020 had in store for us. It feels very much like a different world, now.
Next month I launch Spindrift, the first in a contemporary romance series, so stay tuned! There will be no in-person events, but my publisher and I will be running some giveaways, and I am working on putting together a virtual launch event that I would love for you to attend. Details forthcoming.
Lastly, I am the incoming Director of Education for the Golden Crown Literary Society’s Writing Academy, which is a year-long intensive queer writing program. To say I am thrilled is an understatement. More on that later, too.
Stay safe out there!
